Overview
Family Rhythm Journal ("Family Rhythm," "we," or "us") helps parents and caregivers build private connection rhythms. No Family Rhythm account is required.
Information stored on your device
The app may store information you enter or select, including:
- Names, relationship details, birthdays, interests, and rhythm choices
- Connection moments, journal entries, private notes, and activity history
- Optional profile and journal photos you choose
- Reminder and privacy preferences
- Purchase entitlement state supplied by Apple StoreKit
Family Rhythm does not operate an account database or a photo server for this information.
Photos
Photo access is optional and requested only when you choose a photo-related action. Selected photos are copied into protected app storage so the journal can continue to display them. Camera access is requested only when you choose to take a photo.
Optional iCloud Family Backup
With Family Plus, you may create a Family Backup in your private iCloud database using Apple CloudKit. A backup can include journal content and selected photos. The app can list, restore, and delete these backups. Restore replaces the current local journal after confirmation.
Apple provides the iCloud infrastructure under Apple's privacy terms. Family Rhythm does not read your private CloudKit backup for advertising.
Purchases
Subscriptions and activity-pack purchases are processed by Apple. Family Rhythm receives StoreKit entitlement information so purchased features can unlock. Apple's privacy policy applies to payment processing.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Family Rhythm may schedule reminders locally on your device. The current app does not use a remote advertising notification system.
Analytics, tracking, and sale of data
Family Rhythm does not use third-party advertising trackers, does not show third-party ads, and does not sell personal information.
Support requests
If you email us or submit a CodexCaptain support ticket, we receive the contact details and message you choose to send. We use that information to answer your request. Do not include private journal entries or children's full names.
Children
The app is designed for parents and caregivers. Family information and children's journal answers remain under the adult user's control. Children are not asked to create accounts.
Data deletion
You can reset local data from the app's More tab. Uninstalling the app removes on-device app data. You can delete one or all iCloud Family Backups from the backup controls in the app.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will appear on this page with a new last-updated date.
